SRU garden reception for Angus Campbell (1978)
SRU was formally established as a research unit in May 1978. In this and following years, Prof. Angus Campbell (Director of the Institute for Social Research, Ann Arbor) came to visit us during his annual European vacation. In 1978 I held a reception for him in my garden in North London to meet unit staff and other colleagues. Some of the party was filmed in (no sound) Super-8. This is a video conversion of the recently rediscovered reels.
I've also snatched some (rather grainy) screen shots of the main characters of interest and incorporated them into a short gallery of Dramatis Personae [pdf] . Featured are:
