Liberation celebrations (27 July 2006)
On 27 July 2006, the usual re-enactment event was joined by a special contingent of four Stewart tanks brought over from the USA, one of which carried a Patton lookalike. These complemented other WW2 vehicles contributed by various French and UK collectors.
The Lieutenant in charge of them was told he would be court-martialled if any harm became them (that's him walking towards the camera in scene 6 of the movie clip). He asked if they could go back to camp via a different route over the small bridge below the Château de Cerisy-la-Salle, but mayor Raoul Hamel said they would be liable if the 40-ton tanks damaged the bridge, hence the U-turn in scene 7!
